About YCMOU:
The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) is the second-largest university in India in terms of student enrolment.
The main aim of the YCMOU is to become a Mass Varsity and to make available to the common man, educational programs that are of practical use in his day-to-day life, and those that provide better prospects for the future. The University offers several offline programs and has also embarked on a number of innovative online initiatives.
Current Admission Situation:
YCMOU has courses for undergraduate computer science stream with enrollments running in thousands each year. The admission process along with the examination process is an important task and most of the students are working professionals. Students enroll to university courses through study centers situated all over Maharashtra. Student admission form processing, repeater form processing, examination fee collection are some of the regular processes managed by the university.
Online Examination and Online Form Filling:
University decided to use ePravesh for managing online enrollment/ form filling process and Eklavvya.in for managing online examinations. The entire admission process was conducted in a paperless manner with student uploading photographs and other admission information.
For Online examination, certain security measures were used including web camera authentication, study center examiner authentication. It resulted in the simplification of the overall examination process. Repeater students were able to make online fee payment for the exam. Online examinations were conducted using Eklavvya. More than 50,000+ exams were conducted over a period of 2 weeks’ time.
Summary:
The entire process was conducted in a paperless manner and with 100% accuracy. It resulted in instant mark sheet generation for the students and the university is able to declare results ahead of time. The overall process resulted in huge savings related to administration costs.
